this is a new article in Muscular Development is very interesting and kind of confusing at the same time.

http://www.musculardevelopment.com/c…/view/1449/51/

am i reading this correctly, that muscle will grow independently of all/any hormonal response? that muscle load or better put, time under tension is more important (or the sole catalyst) than testosterone, GH or IGF 1?

they pretty much removed any and every part of a rat that produced hormones (testicle, pituitary, thyroid and even starved the rodents) but when putting the muscle under tension under any of these circumstances, Muscle Hypertrophy still occurred.

sounds interesting, but if this were 100% true/accurate, wouldn’t women be able to accumulate muscle mass at the same rate as men?

just wondering.

This means you reply with actual evidence and not name calling (i.e. "stfu you’re wrong *****. lol u mad?) because that accomplishes absolutely nothing except showing that you are incapable of arguing with your own evidence.

Anyway, I do consider myself open minded; this board has actually changed my opinions on a lot. I don’t support Obama anymore, don’t really believe in God anymore, am on the fence about the last time American soldiers fighting for freedom, etc. etc. The historical context provided on this board by a lot of users is astounding and I really want to thank the intelligent posters for opening my eyes.

Anyway, I digress. Do you consider yourself open-minded?

After religiously following this site for over a year now, with average gains, I’ve finally come to realize that 99% of this site is complete bullshit.
For every bodybuilding tip or strategy out there, there’s a contradiction to it.

95% of supplements do **** all, yet the companies that make them are making ridiculous amounts of money.

Bodyspace has, and still is, a great motivation to me, but the mistake I made was choosing the biggest and most ripped guys as my role models(as would any noob to this site).
I would try my best to follow what they ate and how they trained, burn out, or eat so much I would make myself sick.
One thing that should not be allowed is people on steroids saying they’re all natural, because anybody who tries to follow in their footsteps will fail miserably, as I did, and feel inadequate, and generally terrible in themselves.

And I do realize I will probably get a lifelong ban for posting this, but to be honest I couldn’t care less.

Ok so I’m 5′11 195lbs. I used to be around 230 at my biggest and recently got serious about working out and dieting. I’m currently cutting because I’d like to be in shape for summer. Though now I don’t know if I should continue my cut, or do a bulk for a month or so until the end of April. I’m just worried I will put on more fat and not be able to cut by June. My chest isn’t nearly as big as I’d like and I would like to be bigger overall. Should I up the calories, or keep what I’m doing? I current workout schedule is this…

Monday/Thursday - Chest, Triceps, and 20 min HIIT running

Tuesday/Friday - Legs, Shoulders

Wednesday/Saturday - Back, Biceps, Forearms, and 20 min HIIT running

My current diet goes like this..

7am - 4 egg whites, 1 1/2 cups Oatmeal w/ skim milk
10am - 24g Whey Protein Shake
12am/Pre-workout - Natty PB sandwich on 100% whole wheat, 16oz Black Coffee
2:30pm/Post-workout - 48g Whey/Casein mix Protein Shake, Plain mini bagel w/ 1 Tbsp Grape Jelly
4:30pm - Can of chunk light tuna, piece of fruit
6:30pm - 8-10 oz. Lean meat and vegetables
9pm - 24 g Casein Protein Shake

If I do choose to bulk should I throw in some mild cardio 2 times a week to keep the body fat under control?

Sage Rosenfels is officially a Minnesota Viking, Scout.com has confirmed, after the team traded to get him away from the Houston Texans.

The Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans completed the rumored trade from earlier this week. QB Sage Rosenfels will go to the Vikings for a fourth-round pick, Scout.com has confirmed.

Rosenfels will sign a three-year, $9 million deal with Minnesota and the trade is expected to be announced later on Friday. Rosenfels will compete against Tarvaris Jackson for the starting quarterback job.

The Houston Chronicle reported the deal was in the works earlier this week. Sports Radio 610 in Houston reported the contract offer from Vikings earlier this week.

Minnesota now has four quarterbacks under contract. Veteran Gus Frerotte is on the final season of his two-year deal and probably is the odd-man out. Frerotte has a cap number of $2 million which includes a $250,000 roster bonus, a league source said. As of Thursday, Minnesota was projected to be more than $30 million under the salary cap once their cap credits were added.
